Voter Reference Foundation Seeks Injunctive Relief in Massachusets | Voter Reference Foundation

October 10, 2024

The Voter Reference Foundation has filed a complaint against the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeking compliance with the National Voter Rights Act (NVRA) provision allowing public inspection of the voter rolls. VRF has previously requested access to copies of the state’s voter rolls and has been denied, with the Commonwealth citing state law as the justification for the refusal. VRF has argued that the NVRA supersedes state law and that the requested records must be provided, however the Secretary’s refusal has left us no choice but to seek compliance through legal means.

Please stay tuned for more information on this important case.
